State relays rock.  As far as I am concerned, they are the best measure of the best team in the state because of the depth necessary to win at them.  They get underway here in Massachusetts tomorrow morning with Division 2. 

Basically, there are for divisions.  The top six in each event in each division advance to the McIntyre Elite Relays, which is like the "All-State Relay Championships."  The schedule is as follows:

1/16 - Divison 2 State Relays - Performance List - Results

1/17 - Division 3 State Relays - Performance List - Results

1/23 - Division 4 State Relays

1/24 - Division 1 State Relays

2/7 - McIntyre Elite Relays

Fair warning: don't trust the performance lists.  Coaches put down ridiculous seed times (the #1 seed in Div. 2 DMR would be a HS record), sometimes on purpose and sometimes by accident.  Either way, it's really sucky for the teams that get bumped out of the better heats, but unfortunately there isn't much that can be done.  Plus, this happens at almost every meet in which times are not verified, so it shouldn't come as a shock :P

Nonetheless, it is always fun to see some of these relays that are almost never run in other meets (i.e., the DMR, SMR, 4x55), and it is a nice preview for the relays at states (4x400, 4x200, and 4x800).  I'll be looking forward to all five of these meets.
